Raging Waters Los Angeles - Crew Member
Roles & Responsibilities:
The Line Cook will be assigned oversight of Raging Waters Los Angeles. This position will be involved in the preparation of cold and hot food that meets company standards and quality.
Seasonal Position: Food & Beverage Crew Member / Line Cook
The pay rate for this position is $20.00/hour
Tentative Start Date: May 2025
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Prepare workstations with supplies, foods, and condiments
· Prepare proper quantities of food according to department standards and guest needs
· Focus on delivering exceptional food quality for all meals prepared
· Inspect and clean all food preparation areas
· Strictly abide by standards set forth by ServSafe, state and local regulations, company policy, and other food regulatory standards that may apply at Raging Waters Los Angeles
· Become knowledgeable of all food products and ingredients used
· Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients using various kitchen utensils and equipment; season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment
· Assist with basic food preparation, such as washing, peeling, slicing, fruits and vegetables
· Utilize ovens, fryers, broilers, griddles, mixers, and knives to prepare food (age restrictions may apply)
· Ensure food and ingredients are being properly stored at the correct temperatures
· Seasons and cooks each item according to the recipe and menu
· Plate the prepared food appropriately
· Pre-portion individual packaging sauces, sandwiches, salads, and other items
· Label and track life of stored food to ensure suitable food safety and quality
· Rotate food items out of storage by using the newly prepped items last
· Assist with managing kitchen inventory and replenishing food items that were used
· Communicate with the kitchen staff to ensure a high level of safety and efficiency
· Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
· Sweep and mop floors within the food preparation areas, to ensure that food residue does not accumulate
· Ensure that all work areas, food and equipment/utensils used are cleaned, stowed and secured in preparation for the next day’s work, in accordance with state and local sanitation protocols
· All other duties assigned by leadership
Education and Experience:
· No education requirements for this position
· Culinary arts education a plus, but not required
· 1+ year of previous experience as a chef, cook, or another culinary-related role highly desired, but not required.
· Must be Food Handler Safety Certified (ServSafe or similar) or become so certified when required by state and local guidelines
Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.
Requirements:
· Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with California Child Labor Laws
· Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
· Must have negative TB test results within the last 2 years
· Must have reliable transportation to and from your scheduled shift
· Ability to comply with all uniform policies
· Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner
· Must possess safety-oriented mindset and understand the importance of complying with all state, and local food preparation and serving regulations
· Ability to use kitchen equipment, knives, and appliances in a safe and effective manner
· Must possess a general knowledge and interest in food preparation or culinary arts
