Position Overview

Under administrative direction, serves as the Assistant Regional Administrator (ARA) for a designated region in the Division of Family and Community Services (DFCS). Assists the Regional Administrator (RA) in implementing statewide initiatives. Coordinates and evaluates the administrative aspects of the statewide operations. Establishes policies utilized in implementation and maintenance of programs. Develops and maintains effective working relationships between offices and local communities in the designated area. Represents the RA before federal and other State government agencies, public service groups, and/or advocates.

Essential Functions

Serves as Assistant Regional Administrator for a designated region in the Department of Family and Community Services (FCS).
Assists the Regional Administrator in implementing statewide initiatives.
Develops and maintains effective working relationships between offices and local communities in the designated areas.
Serves as full-line supervisor.
Coordinates with administrators in the designated area on program initiatives.
Works in conjunction with investigatory officials concerning sensitive internal investigations into such areas as allegations of fraud, audits of case records and assessments of programs and services to identify improprieties.
Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years college with course work in a social or human services field.
Requires four (4) years progressively responsible administrative experience in a public welfare system.
