About the Team You'll Join
This role is part of KPFF’s General & Administrative (G&A) team, based in Seattle. As a trusted partner within our decentralized structure, the G&A team provides expertise in areas like payroll, benefits, accounting, and IT—tailored to the unique needs of each office.
In this forward-facing role, you’ll collaborate with project managers and teams across the firm to strengthen financial operations, offer strategic insights, and share best practices. Your ability to build relationships, explain financial concepts clearly, and adapt to different communication styles will be essential to your success.
Job Description
Your Role at a Glance
Project Cost Management & Invoicing
- Partner with Project Managers to review data and generate timely, accurate invoices
- Use BST (our ERP platform) to track, manage, and streamline project costs
- Manage accounts receivable with proactive follow-up and issue resolution
- Reconcile and analyze project financials to identify trends and address potential concerns
Financial Insight & Integrity
- Develop metrics that give Project Managers clear visibility into budgets and forecasts
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls to maintain financial accuracy
Collaboration, Training & Process Improvement
- Contribute to firmwide financial strategies and decision-making alongside leadership
- Translate data into actionable insights for teams across the company
- Maintain and update ERP and financial process training materials
- Lead process improvements that drive efficiency and empower teams
- Provide training and support to project teams on financial best practices
Qualifications
What You Bring to the Role
- 3–8 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Associate or bachelor’s degree with a solid foundation in financial principles
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to spot patterns and identify areas for improvement
- Comfortable collaborating across departments and communicating financial concepts clearly
- Skilled in simplifying complex accounting processes into actionable steps
- Proficient in Excel (reporting and analysis), with working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word
- Self-starter with a process improvement mindset and a history of implementing solutions
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Trusted team player who handles sensitive information with integrity
- Adaptable and independent, while thriving in a collaborative, team-oriented culture
- Experience with BST or working in a professional services or project-based firm is a plus
Additional Information
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Duties are typically performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table
- Ability to actively engage with a computer for several hours per day and communicate over the telephone or virtual meeting platforms.
- May occasionally need to lift items up to 15 lbs.
- This is an in-office role based in downtown Seattle with flexible hours between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm
