Job Title: Chief of Staff
Location: Remote
The Head of Technology Business Operations will execute the vision and long-range planning of the budget, capacity, and labor strategy. This role requires a nimble leader who can support technology leadership to streamline and optimize, drive strategic initiatives, and strengthen cross-functional relationships to ensure organizational goals are met.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the CTO and working closely with other departments, this role will provide essential support to the Product, Design, and Technology functions of Pearson VUE, including:
- Strategic Planning and Management: Lead the planning and execution of budget, capacity, and labor strategies to align with our long-term vision.
- Optimization: Actively manage and optimize budgets, licenses, and associated contracts in tight collaboration with enterprise functions including procurement, finance, legal, and central tech.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships to ensure seamless integration and execution of technology initiatives.
- Resource Management: Collaborate with distributed tech and business functions to ensure quarterly product and delivery plans account for cross-functional resource demands and have appropriate commitments.
- Portfolio Management: Manage and coordinate the CTO portfolio of technology initiatives and collaborate with the Client Program Management Office for cross-VUE and cross-Pearson efforts.
- Leadership: Lead strategic initiatives and special projects that drive innovation and operational excellence.
- Process Improvement: Streamline processes to boost productivity and increase efficiency across the organization.
- Standards Compliance: Ensure adherence to process and technology standards to maintain high-quality outcomes.
- Reporting and Analytics: Prepare insightful reports and presentations, oversee operational reporting and analytics, and analyze data to provide actionable insights.
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in technology business operations, with at least 7 years in a people or program leadership role.
- Proven experience in budget planning, resource capacity management, and labor strategy.
- Experience in driving strategic initiatives and improvements.
- Excellent influence, leadership, partnership, and management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain effective cross-functional working relationships.
