Experienced candidates must be able to perform the following duties:
• Examines and interprets prepared tissue sections and body fluids and secretions by using a variety of microscope techniques, including light microscopy, and whole slide imaging.
• Diagnosis, from body tissue, fluids, secretions or other specimens the presence and stage of disease or other abnormalities, utilizing laboratory techniques and dictates findings
• Identifies the etiology, pathogenesis, morphological change, and clinical significance of diseases.
• May perform gross examination, dissection and description of specimens according to procedure
• Consults with referring physicians about ordering and interpreting tests or providing treatments
• Provides diagnostic information to the treating/referring physician in the form of a written pathology report
• Reviews quality assurance monitors (e.g., frozen section/permanent section concordance/discordance, turn-around-time reports)
• Complies with all State, Federal, professional regulations as well as company and departmental rules, polices, and procedural manuals
• Other duties as assigned: Perform and report Frozen Sections, Perform Rapid on Site Cytology Evaluations, Provide On-Call coverage on a rotating basis with other pathologists.

As a Pathologist you are required to meet the following qualification:
• Degree of Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine
• Board Certification from the American Board of Pathology or Board Eligible (within 5 years of completing residency)
• Genitourinary sub-specialty preferred but not required.
• Ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team.

Work Schedule:

  • Day Shift, M-F
  • Call Coverage across the Hospital System
  • Call is for a week at a time, every seven weeks

Pay Range:

$104,000.00 - $1,404,000.00

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount or if the position is Per Diem (offering a fixed rate), salary discussions will occur during the screening process.
