Position Overview

The School of Music at The Ohio State University seeks to hire a 9-month, non-tenure-track, Visiting Assistant Professor of Tuba & Euphonium starting August 15, 2026. The tuba and euphonium artist will have demonstrated evidence of successful teaching in higher education and a representative record of professional performance experience. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enriching the student experience of tuba and euphonium studies at Ohio State through providing teaching and mentorship to students as they pursue a wide range of academic and professional goals.

Position Expectations

  • Develop and maintain an independent research or creative activity program
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching
  • Effectively mentor and support students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive academic environment

Required Qualifications

  • Master of Music (MM) required
  • Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) preferred
  • ABD candidates are welcome to apply
