Key responsibilities for this role include:
The Senior Director of Marketing, Eye Care has primary responsibility for development of plans and policies related to the (“in-line”) marketing activities and to lead category growth through excellence in professional marketing.
Responsibilities include brand management, positioning the brand to the sales force, development of market objectives and strategies as well as monitoring performance against goals.
Identifies and assesses marketplace and industry data to accurately diagnose business strengths and opportunities; identifies key issues, and develops strategies and plans in support of continuous brand growth.
Develops and leads implementation of brand management process.
Partners cross-functionally at a senior level across the organization to include: sales, finance, regulatory, legal, clinical, market research, DTC campaigns, media and internet initiatives, public relations activities, launch meeting planning, POA materials, publications strategy, patient advocacy, third party relationships, advisory boards, KOL development, life cycle management, and global marketing.
Ensures strategic understanding of customer insight and applies customer knowledge to marketing strategies in alignment with brand objectives.
Prioritizes resource allocation, deploys resources strategically and monitors budgets to ensure execution and efficient use of resources across all brands.
Partnering with agency team to prepare plans, budgets and timelines providing clear expectations, guidance, and feedback, ensuring excellent execution of key tactics and deliverables.
Lead and manage a skilled professional and consumer marketing team, including regional account managers.
The minimum qualifications for this role are:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree required. An MBA is preferred. 10–12 years’ experience in pharmaceutical marketing with experience in sales, professional and consumer marketing, or related fields. Eye care marketing experience is preferred. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
Demonstrated success developing and executing life cycle and launch plans for prescription pharmaceutical brands for Eye Care professionals, as well as the patient/consumer audiences.
Experience with sales and marketing in the ophthalmic pharmaceutical space, marketing in the Dry Eye Disease category preferred.
Experience with building relationships and professional advocacy among ophthalmologists and optometrists.
Experience with effective strategies in digital, multi-channel marketing, loyalty programs, as well as experience with DTC campaigns (including concepting, production, talent management, and Media planning and buying).
Experience with effective strategies for non-personal promotion such as PR, Social Media, Digital channels, Point-of-Care Channels, etc.
Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulatory guidelines, compliance, and promotional policies
Ability to build and lead effective teams and work across multiple stakeholders required.
Must possess strong analytical skills, creative and critical thinking skills, clear communication skills - both verbal and written, strong interpersonal skills, and financial/budgetary/forecasting acumen.
Ability to travel up to 30%.
Position directly supervises employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
