Job Description
The Senior Unified Communications Engineer’s primary role will be providing architectural support and infrastructure support to the management and infrastructure team. Since this role is geared towards a technical individual, the candidate should have most/all the required skills and experience in a wide range of technologies and not just Unified Communications. The engineer will be part of the company's Global Unified Communications Engineering team that owns the design, development, delivery, and experience of Unified Communications System platforms. The position is responsible for the design, selection, implementation, integration, management, user experience and retirement of Collaboration and Communication technology. The position works closely with the IT team and business partners to deliver consistently excellent user experiences and technology experiences for our staff, members, and community.
Responsibilities:
- Perform the implementation and ongoing management of the overall design, solution, and strategy of company's Unified Communications environment.
- Work with vendors, clients, carriers and technical staff on implementation, optimization, and security of the Unified Communications systems
- Review the existing Cisco CUCM implementation globally and worked with the internal and external teams to migrate the CUCM to the Cisco Webex Calling (Dedicated Instance) platform
- Install and manage Cisco CUBE and Audio codes SBCs for SIP Trunking and MS Direct Routing
- Carry out maintenance/upgrades on all UC infrastructure and endpoints
- Research, analyze, recommend, and implement new software, hardware, tools, systems, and processes to provide state-of-the-art collaboration experience
- Provide presentation to the client, upper management, and peers as it pertains to Unified Communications technology roadmap, architecture, engineering, and provisioning.
- Build solutions and implementation plans utilizing the appropriate internal and external resources and ensuring full involvement of business partners and communication with all stakeholders.
- Provide detailed runbook procedure and support documentation for routine maintenance of the Unified Communications systems
- Develop technical standards, define operational processes, and configure best practices for UC infrastructure.
- Knowledge of the IPC Unigy Trading platform is a plus
- Monitor the latest market trend and industrial landscape to discover opportunities to improve customer experience and reduce operating cost
- Build and maintain project/techno documentation, ensuring that accurate information is always available to other colleagues and management
- Manage UC system logging and provide performance metrics
- Provide incident management and support to the critical issues escalated by UC Operations team
- Work with the Operational Support leadership team to ensure compliance with the Operational and Vendor escalation procedures.
- Perform security review of UC Infrastructure and Applications
- Adhere to the design, programming, and application standards as setup by the company. Including compliance with all firm and departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in designing, configuring, implementing, and supporting Cisco Unified Communications solutions
- Advanced level experience of designing, configuring and supporting Cisco Unified Communications infrastructure (CUCM, CUC, SME and IMP)
- Knowledge of Cisco Webex and Webex Calling (Dedicated Cloud) Platform
- Advance knowledge of Cisco Dial Plan design and troubleshooting
- Strong Knowledge of Cisco Voice Gateway, CUBE, Audio Codes and Protocols (SIP, H.323 and MGCP)
- Strong knowledge of SIP Protocol and implementing Voice Security.
- Solid analytical skills which result in sound decisions, solutions, and recommendations
