  • Job Summary

    Northrop Grumman Space Systems is searching for an Operational Guidance candidate to be part of our Integration and Test team in Launch Vehicles, at our Chandler, AZ facility. This position will be 100% on-site in Chandler.

  • This position is a Casual/On-Call employee working on an hourly basis.
  • The salary range is based on a full-time schedule and will be prorated to the extent the schedule is reduced
  • Provides guidance on all Integration and Test activities to mechanically assemble large avionics assemblies and other rocket structures and conduct acceptance testing.

    • Thermal Protection Systems (TPS) cell applying TPS to various flight structures

Mechanical and Electrical Technician pool for integration activities at Launch Vehicles

  • Observes day-to-day planning and operations for the work cells to include daily activity plans

  • Consults with managers and leadership from a cross-functional team to ensure all required support is available to execute daily plan, including Technicians, Engineering, Quality, Material Operations and Logistics.

  • Develops solutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals and objectives.

  • Knowledge and application of Lean Principles is highly desired.

  • Ensures Launch Vehicle Business Unit processes, procedures and standard practices are followed, including 5S, Foreign Object Debris (FOD) Control, Tool Control, ESD, and Ordnance Handling.

  • Develops, maintains and analyzes monthly metrics to promote sound operational decisions, improve efficiency and eliminate waste.

  • Supports and provides input to functional managers in regard to employee performance.

  • Champions ongoing Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with large scale rocket production

  • Bachelor’s Degree +8 years of relevant experience or Master’s +6 years of relevant experience

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance, which generally requires US Citizenship as a prerequisite

  • Must be able to exercise influence and lead team to success

  • Experience leading a team within Operations

  • Experience with production rocket integration programs

  • Establishing rocket manufacturing processing facility layout for high volume production

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in managing internal relationships, prioritization, and delegation.

  • Must be detail-oriented but able to grasp the big picture

  • Microsoft Office Suite Experience including Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 10 years experience

  • Active DoD Security clearance of Secret or above

  • Knowledge and application of Lean Principles

Primary Level Salary Range: $120.00 - $200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
