School Caretaker - Llantrisant, South Wales

Pay: £14.50-£17.00 per hour, depending on experience

Full Time - Hours: 6:30am - 9:30am & 2:30pm - 5:30pm

Are you a reliable, hands-on individual with experience in maintenance and caretaking?

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and hardworking School Caretaker to join a school in Llantrisant, South Wales. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming school environment.

As a School Caretaker, you will play an important role in ensuring the school premises are well-maintained, safe and ready for pupils and staff each day.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out general caretaking, maintenance and repair duties around the school premises.

Ensure the school grounds and buildings are safe, clean and well-maintained.

Complete routine Health and Safety checks and report any potential hazards.

Manage school security, including opening and locking the premises when required.

Respond promptly to maintenance issues and emergency situations.

Work closely with school staff to identify and address any maintenance requirements.

Help maintain a welcoming and safe environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

The Ideal Candidate

Previous experience in caretaking, facilities management or general maintenance is desirable.

Practical skills and the ability to carry out minor repairs.

A reliable, proactive and flexible approach to work.

Good awareness of Health and Safety procedures.

The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

A commitment to maintaining a safe environment within a school setting.

Previous experience working within a school or educational environment would be advantageous, but we would also welcome applications from candidates with relevant maintenance or facilities experience.
