About the role

Position Description

Valiant Solutions is seeking an experienced Capture Manager to increase win probability (Pwin) across high-priority federal opportunities. As a key member of our Business Development and Capture team, you will lead capture strategy and execution for active pursuits, contribute to pre-RFP shaping efforts, and support proposal development. This is a hands-on, high-impact individual contributor role that requires initiative, collaboration, and strong communication skills.

 

You’ll work closely with Business Development, Solution Architects, Proposal Management, Contracts, and Executive Leadership to shape and win strategic pursuits across the federal civilian and DoD markets. This role reports directly to the Executive Vice President, Strategic Initiatives.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead opportunity capture from qualification through proposal submission, including strategy development, teaming, win themes, and solution shaping.
  • Develop and execute capture plans that position Valiant to win large-scale full and open federal contracts.
  • Work closely with proposal, operations, and technical teams, as well as partners and subcontractors, to shape tailored solutions aligned with customer needs.
  • Partner with Proposal Managers to ensure win strategies are reflected in technical, management, and past performance volumes; contribute to writing and color team reviews when needed.
  • Facilitate teaming discussions, relationship development, and pre-RFP shaping activities.
  • Analyze industry trends, competitor activity, and customer priorities to inform Valiant’s positioning.
  • Execute tactically, from solution brainstorming to creating capture decks and participating in proposal reviews, balancing strategic leadership and hands-on work.
  • Lead and manage multiple capture efforts at varying stages of maturity, ensuring consistent progress toward capture milestones and bid readiness.
  • Develop tools, templates, and playbooks that improve capture consistency and efficiency across the company.
  • Own movement of high-priority opportunities through the pipeline stages and internal gate processes, ensuring opportunities advance without delay.
  • Identify shaping levers for pre-RFP opportunities, coordinate outreach, and influence acquisition strategy, teaming, and solution requirements ahead of release.
  • Plan, lead, and facilitate Shipley Blue Hat reviews (pre-proposal solution reviews) and Black Hat reviews (competitive analysis) to strengthen Valiant’s positioning and strategy.
  • Serve as the hub between BD, technical SMEs, proposal staff, and leadership to align capture efforts and eliminate silos across functions.
  • Develop or contribute to white papers, agency capability briefings, and BD presentations that position Valiant with new or existing customers.
  • Participate in pipeline discussions, strategy sessions, and internal gate reviews to help refine pursuit strategies.
  • Coordinate with BD team members to support opportunity shaping efforts through research, call prep, and outreach materials.
  • Support the development of tailored marketing collateral and positioning documents in coordination with SMEs and technical writers.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Government Security Clearance.
  • B.S./B.A. degree required
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in federal capture management, business development, or related roles, with a proven ability to lead captures independently.
