JOB SUMMARY: The US Regulatory Team Leader is responsible for the acquisition and maintenance of the Federal pesticide registrations for UPL product lines. Reporting to the Regional Regulatory Head, NA - the US Regulatory Team Leader is responsible for leading a team of US Regulatory Managers for conventional and biological pesticides, providing strategic regulatory guidance, and people development while fostering professional interaction with the US EPA, trade associations, grower groups, customers and industry partners.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
- Manage & develop a high-performance team of diverse US Regulatory Managers for successful registrations, defense, label requirements at the EPA, and all PRIA (Pesticide Registration Improvement Act) & non-PRIA actions to maintain, defend, and expand uses for UPL brand products. Drive a culture of accountability, meritocracy, and inclusiveness.
- Directly perform US Regulatory Manager responsibilities for important sub-set of UPL products.
- Active member of Regional Regulatory Leadership Team, enabling smooth regulatory linkages with R&D, Supply Chain & Manufacturing, Marketing & Sales, and B2B.
- Drives high level of coordination with UPL’s State Regulatory Team ensure strategic guidance is provided at all stages.
- Leads effective coordination with Global Regulatory, Regulatory Sciences and other internal stakeholders; supports data compensation activities.
- Identifies and drives continuous improvement initiatives of UPL regulatory processes; develops, maintains, and delivers on budget (Operational and Capital).
- Leads US regulatory competitive intelligence efforts raising awareness on key regulatory issues of potential impact to UPL products while strategically developing action plan.
- Develop and maintain vital relationships with government agencies responsible for pesticide registration, ensures solid working relationships with industry task forces, trade associations, and grower groups to effectively communicate the Company’s regulatory concerns and objectives.
- Collaborate with HR on people development, performance management through SMART goal setting, culture, and engagement priorities.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Ideal candidate will possess at least a minimum of a bachelor’s degree (ideally within a scientific discipline) with approximately 10 years’ experience as a federal regulatory manager working with EPA.
- Strong understanding of the US regulatory landscape for both for conventional and biological pesticides is required.
- Ability to collaborate with key internal stakeholders (management, peers, sales, supply chain, finance, marketing) through challenges and opportunities.
