Position Purpose
Highland Hills is seeking a dedicated and skilled Environmental Services Technician to join our team. Under the supervision of the Environmental Services Manager or designee, you will help ensure our facility remains safe, clean, and comfortable for residents, staff, and visitors. Your work will directly support our mission of compassionate care and community well-being.
What You Will Do
Perform general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment, fixtures, and property including HVAC systems, plumbing, furniture, flooring, and more.
Coordinate and complete work orders and preventive maintenance schedules.
Maintain inventory of tools and supplies, inspect equipment, and submit purchase requisitions.
Prepare vacated apartments for new residents and assist with groundskeeping tasks such as snow removal and debris cleanup.
Ensure safety protocols are followed and work areas remain clean and sanitary.
Occasionally transport residents using company vehicles.
Monitor facility security, document rounds, and report safety concerns.
Attend required training and uphold resident rights and confidentiality.
Patrols buildings and premises to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and intruders
Monitors conduct of visitors on premises; approaches and handles unauthorized people for questioning as needed.
Reports any safety and/or fire hazards or any security violations.
Escorts personnel to parking lots as requested
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational training in maintenance preferred.
Minimum 1 year of experience in general maintenance.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
Valid Chauffeur’s license or ability to obtain one; safe driving record required.
Experience with manual and power tools.
Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Previous experience in long-term care or working with geriatric populations is a plus.
Basic computer skills.
