About the role

Position Overview: 


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Claims team member to lead our claims department. The National Claims Leader will be responsible for overseeing the department strategy, team members, and client relations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of claims procedures, excellent leadership abilities, working knowledge of the construction industry, and a passion for delivering exceptional service to clients.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans for the claims department to optimize efficiency and enhance customer satisfaction. 
  • Claims Management & Relations: Oversee the end-to-end claims process, including claim intake, investigation, evaluation, settlement, and resolution for our construction clients. Collaborate with other departments to address client concerns and ensure a positive claims experience. Maintain relationships at leadership levels with client teams.  
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of claims professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and productivity. 
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain quality assurance standards to ensure accurate and timely claims processing. 
  • Data Analysis: Utilize data analytics to identify trends, opportunities for process improvement, and areas for cost reduction. Work with technology and development teams to innovate and lead strategy on claims systems and processes. 
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors, such as carriers, adjusters and legal counsel 
  • Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Prepare regular reports on claims activity, performance metrics, and key performance indicators for senior management. 



Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, insurance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. 
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance policies, coverage, and claims processes – a legal background and/or construction background with this knowledge is a plus 
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
