SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for managing a team of skilled hourly workers. They must ensure the manufacturing process remain smooth and efficient by organizing workflows and monitoring staff. This position requires an essential understanding and control of production process, accurate record keeping, and general line maintenance and staffing.
Specific responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Supervising operations within a facility to achieve higher output.
- Organizing training for the production team
- Assisting in the onboarding/training of new hires
- Ensuring compliance with safety and professional standards within the facility
- Organizing, monitoring, and prioritizing tasks to meet production goals.
- Evaluating various stations of the production operation to ensure optimum efficiency.
- Maintaining communication between employees and senior leadership to ensure procedures and policies are well-understood.
- Ensuring the flow of raw materials and other resources
- Tracking of orders and days production in EIM/SAP4
- Ensuring all workstations have passed USDA Inspection, promoting safety on a daily basis.
- Ensuring accurate shipments, rotation of inventory, and proper coding of products.
Additionally, this position is responsible for knowing and communicating company benefits and compensation policies to Team Members, providing encouragement to Team Members to build the best team possible, and the critical ability to perform human relations functions such as training, retaining, and counseling on personal and professional problems. Must be highly organized and focused. Excellent project management and execution skills, with strong ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities is a must.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: High school diploma; education beyond high school including
special training, vocational school and/or college courses is preferred. - Experience: 1 year of experience as a Lead or Supervisor preferred. Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer skills helpful.
Communication Skills: Strong communication skills. Bilingual preferred.
Supervisory: This position is responsible for supervising a group of
personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or
activities.
Travel: 1-5 trips per year.
