JOB SUMMARY
This job supports one or more analytical aspects of the business products and services life cycle. Uses minimal judgement and discretion to assist in collaboration with customers to understand data, reporting, and analytical capability needs, gather project and data specifications, create data sets, operational reports, and analytical deliverables, translate high-level business data needs into detailed requirements for new capabilities. The incumbent will work closely with our data professionals, analysts, and engineers to build and optimize data pipelines, ensuring data quality and integrity. This job has the goal of providing the opportunity to acquire practical experience through direct exposure to various parts of our organization and to develop the next generation of diverse business and technology talent. To that end, this internship will prepare participants for potential positions in the Enterprise Technology Development Program (ETDP).
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with stakeholders across IT, product, analytics, and business teams to gather requirements and provide data solutions that meet organizational needs
Perform data analysis and provide insights to support decision-making across various departments
Effectively communicate with team members, customers, partners, and management, including assisting with requirement walkthroughs, reporting project status, and providing accurate and concise documentation
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering, recommending new tools and best practices as needed
Develop and maintain data models, databases, and data warehouses to support business intelligence and analytics needs
Work with more senior team members, customers, Data Engineers, Data Architects, and Capability Managers to capture capability needs and drive quality data and reporting solutions. Create and maintain deliverables such as a data set creation, operational reports, and analytical dashboards

EXPERIENCE
Required
1 year in one or more club, volunteerism effort, or other activity outside of classroom
Conceptual understanding of design and analysis of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns in the building and deploying of scalable, highly available systems
Experience with SQL and at least one data base technologies (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
Experience with at least one data warehousing concepts and solutions (e.g. Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
Preferred
Ability to translate requirements, design mockups, prototypes, or user stories into technical designs
Exposure to Cloud platform (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP) and their respective data services

EDUCATION
Required
High School/GED
Must be enrolled as a current standing Junior in an accredited Bachelor's or higher program with an anticipated graduation date within 12 months of internship start date (field of study: Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering or related field)
