Pratt & Whitney is a global leader in aviation propulsion and behind many of the major advances in both military and commercial engines. The Engineering organization is divided into four Module Centers, including Hot Section, Compression and Mechanical Systems, Fans and Externals, and Product Delivery. The Module Centers are an extraordinary engineering organization, aligned by component-level hardware in different sections of the jet engine. We design, manufacture and service aircraft engines, auxiliary and ground power units, and small turbojet propulsion products.

 

What You Will Do

• Pratt and Whitney Hot Section Engineering (HSE) is looking for a highly motivated, goal oriented, detail focused engineer to join its 2025 Engineering Summer Internship Program.
• You have the opportunity to try one of four disciplines (Project, Design, Structures, and Durability) during your summer experience.
• This summer internship will require a candidate that can demonstrate leadership and a command of Mechanical and or Aerospace Engineering foundational knowledge.
• Specific responsibilities will be supporting an Integrated Product Team (IPT) consisting of a cross functional group of Project, Design, Structures, and Durability team members.
• You will need to communicate the status of your technical tasks to CIPT leaders and your fellow IPT members.
• You may also need to work closely with purchasing, suppliers, customer support and or the sustainment teams to support engine deliveries and field challenges.
• At the end of the summer you will summarize your overall experience with a final presentation for the HSE Leadership Team.

• Our intern program seeks to help you develop an understanding of the aerospace industry and learn about our company and its operations.

 

Qualifications You Must Have

• Enrolled in a degree program in Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

What is my role type?

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 US
