Quality assurance of treatment planning computer systems including entry, processing, and verification of radiation beam data.
1. Maintenance of backup media for all computers used in treatment planning and delivery.
2. Radiation protection survey and leak test.
3. Calibration of radioisotopes.
4. Audit/Review of patient treatment folders.
5. IMRT plan verifications.
6. Daily, monthly, and annual LINAC quality assurance records and calibration
7. Special dose calculation and invivo patient dosimetry.
8. Implant procedures – Backup physicist
9. Updates a Continuum P&P manual, reflecting all procedures, and including all forms
10. Coordinate independent (RPC) LINAC output comparison with the RPC for all BI LINACs
11. Prepare data for Internal Audit review of all Continuum sites
12. Collects and coordinates QI data for all Continuum sites
13. Oversee calibration equipment certificate compliance
14. Recommends and evaluates new methodologies and technologies associated with the delivery of Radiation Oncology services.
15. Participates and represents the department in meetings and committees both within the Department/Medical Center as well as outside agencies/facilities.
16. Ensures that the Physics division operates in compliance with all regulatory standards.
17. Oversees all quality assurance activities, as well as establishes and enforces the policies and procedures.
18. Maintains patient/employee confidentiality in the management of information.
19. Observes the Health Care System's compliance policies.
20. Participates in the development of other staff members.
21. Participates in the department’s performance improvement activities
22. Observes the Health Care System’s compliance policies
23. Directs and supervises department staff through subordinate managers, including review/approval of recommended personnel actions
24. Implements and maintains established Medical Center policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control
25. Directs (through subordinate supervisors) care and maintenance of department facilities, equipment and supplies
