Sayres is seeking a Warehouse Marine Surveyor Associate in Virginia Beach, VA.

The Warehouse Marine Surveyor Associate plays a crucial role in warehouse operations, with a primary focus on the shipping, receiving, prepping, inspection, and acceptance of boats and watercraft in support of the PMS 300 program in Virginia Beach, VA. .

Responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:

  • Receive incoming boats and watercraft shipments
  • Prepare boats for resale through the General Services Administration (GSA)
  • Assist in the inspection and acceptance process of boats and craft, checking for compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Document any discrepancies or issues and report them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Organize and maintain boat inventory in the warehouse.
  • Assist with inventory control, including tracking certain stock levels and conducting periodic counts.
  • Operate forklifts, power tools, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling practices for boats and equipment.
  • Comply with all relevant regulations and guidelines related to warehouse and boat operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma and a minimum of 8 years of experience working in a marine construction facility or warehouse
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and other power tools
  • Experience with mechanical tools for minor boat maintenance and repairs
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Active Secret security clearance verifiable in DISS, or the ability to obtain one.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
  • Often positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closet.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • May be asked to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment.
  • Will be asked to operate motorized other vehicles such as forklifts and cranes.
