Warehouse and Backroom Associate

Job Summary

This role is a hybrid role which combines certain core functions of a warehouse associate with certain core functions of a backroom associate. These functions include, but are not limited to, loading and unloading containers, pulling orders, prepping furniture orders for shipping and in-home delivery, furniture assembly, and showroom work. This position floats between warehouse and store locations within a market on a pre-determined schedule and/or as needed by the business.  

Responsibilities and Duties

-Loading and unloading trucks and containers

-Pull merchandise according to paperwork

-Receive, process and store merchandise in correct warehouse location

-May operate equipment such as forklift, dolly, pallet jack, bander, table saw and all safety and loading equipment

-Loading of furniture and accessories in company and customer vehicles

-Wrapping and unpacking furniture and accessories for shipment 

-Inspect, prep and assemble furniture and accessories

-Moving and placement of furniture on the showroom floor

-Patching and painting showroom walls and display areas

-Assisting with inventory control and processes (transfers, receiving and inventory control) .with FROG software

-Accountable to follow all safety procedures and loss prevention guidelines

-Keep warehouse, showroom, and common areas clean

-Permanent or temporary duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

-2 years in warehouse/loading environment required

-Previous handyman experience

-Furniture handling and assembly experience preferred

-Valid driver’s license required

-Ability to lift 50+ lbs

-High School education or equivalent

-Must have basic computer skills

-Possess professional and friendly communication and interpersonal skills

-Ability to work independently and with a team.

-Strict adherence to all safety policies and procedures.

-Reliable and punctual responsible, organized, and dependable
