Position Overview
The Senior Data Warehouse ETL/BI Developer is responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and maintaining enterprise‑level data warehouse applications within a large‑scale Teradata environment. The role supports complex data initiatives across multiple teams, including ETL engineering, data‑mart development, BI/reporting support, technical leadership, and coordinated project delivery.
This position requires strong SQL expertise, data‑warehouse architecture knowledge, the ability to work independently, and the skills to collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, developers, DBAs, and review boards.
Key Responsibilities
Data Warehouse Development & ETL Engineering
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes, data marts, and BI applications on a Teradata data‑warehouse platform.
- Write advanced SQL queries, transformations, and scripts supporting reporting, dashboards, and analytical workflows.
- Collaborate with data modelers to optimize physical data models for reporting, reconciliation, and performance.
- Ensure all solutions consider data accuracy, query performance, security requirements, and business value.
BI, Reporting & User Engagement
- Support BI/reporting development through data modeling, dataset preparation, and optimized ETL feeds.
- Meet with end users to gather requirements, clarify needs, and refine analytics and reporting deliverables.
- Provide documentation updates, end‑user support, and training as needed.
Technical Leadership & Cross‑Team Collaboration
- Represent the data‑warehouse team on multi‑team initiatives and coordinate work across parallel DW projects.
- Present technical findings, solutions, and design proposals to review boards and project leadership.
- Offer expert guidance to other developers and contribute to process improvements and coding standards.
