Description
Cedar Crest College seeks an Administrative Assistant to support the daily operations of two academic departments: Communication and Humanities, Political Science & Global Studies. Responsibilities include assisting the department Chairs and faculty in program operations, serving as liaison between the departments and other administrative offices, and providing student services appropriate to the departments’ functions. The Administrative Assistant will also support on-campus coordination of the Pan-European Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing program. This is a full-time, 12-month position, 35 hours per week.
Position Responsibilities

Provide positive customer service to faculty, staff, students, and visitors.

Provide program support for undergraduate majors, including but not limited to: assisting with the daily procedures and operations of the College, effectively managing department resources, purchases and reimbursements, and providing direction and guidance to work-study students if necessary.

Support the Pan-European MFA program by maintaining schedules; handling contracts, invoices, and check requests in a timely manner; and providing outreach and other support as needed. This role may include the potential to support the MFA program in-country for two weeks during the summer low residency component.

Act as a representative of, and contact for, the academic departments both within the College and when engaging with third party vendors.

Provide support to the Communication Technical Assistant, e.g., receiving borrowed technology, scheduling use of technology in the Digital Maker Space labs in the Narrows.

Assist departments in marketing academic programs, through print and digital/social media outreach.

Perform special tasks as assigned by an individual Chair or academic leadership.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must possess exceptional interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills, superior organizational skills with a strong attention to detail, and the ability to be self-directed and work independently. Proficiency with applicable technology and office software (especially Microsoft Office suite), as well as graphic design software (Creative Suite - In Design, Photoshop, and Illustrator), is preferred.
A high school diploma or equivalent with applicable experience is required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
