We are seeking a Staff Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our Core Infrastructure organization. In this role, you will shape the direction and architecture of our cloud platforms, enabling engineers at BILL to have a great AWS infrastructure experience. You will solve complex challenges in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

As the Staff Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining BILL’s infrastructure in the cloud (AWS). This includes developing virtual private clouds, compute and storage services to host various applications, and evolving the platform to meet the business's current and future requirements. The platform must be code-drift free, scalable, performant, robust, and secure.

A key focus will be modernizing BILL's infrastructure in AWS. You will bring vast hands-on experience working with SaaS infrastructure on the cloud. You must be able to identify problems with our current setup, challenge the status quo, and introduce new ideas.

This role reports to the Manager of the Shared Services team within Core Infrastructure.

We’d love to chat if you have:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
• 6+ years software development experience
• Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure development with AWS, containerization and orchestration (ECS Fargate, EKS), Networking, Storage (S3, EFS), Lambda, API Gateway
• Strong programming fundamentals (e.g. Python)
• Strong programming skills for infrastructure automation
• Strong writing skills
• Experience working with Agile development processes
• Very strong interpersonal skills - must be able to demonstrate an ability to work well with other non-technical members of the team

The estimated salary  range for this role is noted below for our San Jose based role.  Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed above. The role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending & health savings account, paid holidays, paid time off, and other company benefits.

San Jose pay range$167,300—$200,800 USD
