None/Not RequiredCollins Aerospace is hiring a Senior Manager, Operations, to lead our Manufacturing Engineering team. This critical leadership role will shape the strategy and execution of both daily operations and long-term initiatives that drive innovation and efficiency across our machining, manufacturing, and assembly processes.
As the leader of a team of Manufacturing Engineers, you will balance tactical support with strategic vision—identifying and implementing creative, cost-effective solutions that improve processes and reduce waste. A strong focus on continuous improvement (CI), lean manufacturing principles, and next-generation process optimization will be key to success in this role. This position sits at the heart of our factory operations, offering high visibility and strong growth potential. We’re looking for a positive, energetic leader who can inspire their team, foster enthusiasm, and help shape the future of our technology and manufacturing capabilities.
This role is eligible for relocation.
What You Will Do
- Evaluates the recommendations of engineers to ensure that they are accurate and consistent with the production plans.
- Leads engineering projects and develops innovative approaches to production problems.
- Develops and monitors operating budgets for the process engineering unit in order to maximize cost effectiveness and ensure standards are met.
- Evaluates and recommends investments in equipment, systems, or other assets in order to improve the organization’s production capabilities.
- Establishes the process for identifying opportunities or implementing changes to improve products or reduce costs, using knowledge of manufacturing processes, production equipment, assembly processes, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts.
- Directs engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques to ensure smooth operations and optimal use of facilities.
- Leads, directs, evaluates, and develops project engineering staff to ensure their work meets established targets and standards
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
Qualifications We Prefer
- Leadership experience within manufacturing/operations
- Lean manufacturing experience
- Experience with operational performance improvement planning and execution is preferred.
- Proven experience managing and developing teams, with a focus on coaching, mentoring, and fostering career growth
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and collaborate across departments to align quality initiatives with business goals.
- Digital technologies understanding ideal, but not necessary
