Job Summary:

The Nursing Success Center Director is responsible for oversight of Nursing Success Center operations, which focus on academic support services for undergraduate (BSN and ABSN) nursing students. This includes services related to program readiness such as academic orientation, advising, and monitoring academic progression and retention support activities including workshops and tutoring. The NSC Director facilitates data tracking and reporting for student progression from admission through graduation. The Nursing Success Center Director is directly responsible for the supervision of the NSC support staff. The NSC Director reports to the PSON Executive Director.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversight of PSON Nursing Success
  • Responsible for enrollment management of the PSON Undergraduate program students (monitoring

rosters, provide permission code, troubleshooting).

  • Oversight documentation and design logistics for the academic advising
  • Management of retention program and activities such as tutoring and orientation for the PSON Undergraduate programs.
  • Management of PSON Undergraduate programs participation in Texas Workforce Commission scholarship program.
  • Support for Nurse
  • Support for Nursing Scholarship
  • Support the Nursing Admissions
  • Support UST with new freshmen and transfer student registration of the PSON Undergraduate
  • Works with leadership to design and implement retention services activities and
  • Develop and implement student success policies and procedures?
  • In collaboration with the faculty and other PSON staff:
    • Evaluate current administrative and program planning processes,
    • Identifies need for new processes,
    • Recommends opportunity for
  • Manage and oversee budget and resource management for all NSC
  • Manage the NCLEX-RN readiness process associated with the nursing course HESIs for traditional BSN and ABSN students to support HESI Comprehensive Exit Exam and NCLEX RN success.
  • Manage processes associated with TXBON requirements for the Undergraduate
    • Administrative management of NCLEX-RN licensure application eligibility process for the

Undergraduate Program (ABSN and BSN), to include:

  • Registration of Nursing Portal
  • Proof of Registration for Pearson-Vue Exam
  • Proof of Registration for NCLEX Exam
  • Create and spreadsheet with cohort details for Executive Dean, Division Dean, ABSN

Program Director.

  • Collaborate with Undergraduate Program Directors on monitoring and documenting undergraduate student eligibility for TX BON Affidavit of Graduation, NCLEX-RN performance information and employment placement for undergraduate students.
  • Serve as a liaison with UST student support services including Academic Advising, Career Services and Testing, Office of Counseling and Disability, the UST Tutoring Center.

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree in education, Psychology, Counseling or Advising. A master's degree is required, MBA, MA in Counseling, Psychology or Advising preferred.


Required Experience:

At least five years of managerial and supervisory experience is required. Demonstrated experience with computer systems, software, and data analysis. Work experience with advising in a college or university setting is preferred. Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
