Position Overview:

Finning Canada is seeking Journeypersons Field Heavy Equipment Technicians to join our amazing General Line - Field team in Edmonton on a 5 x 2 Shift Schedule. Field Heavy Duty Mechanics at Finning are responsible for supporting our customers by: troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance and diagnostics of a variety of Caterpillar engines and auxiliary equipment in a field environment.

We are seeking Red Seal Technicians who can hit the ground running. You must have proven field experience, with an expectation of immediate positive impact for our customers.

Job Description:

Major Job Functions

• Trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs
• Interface with customers, products and sales support
• Working with the supervisor on various tasks
• Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
• Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
• Various related duties as required

**Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement**

Specific Skills & Experience

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Heavy Duty Technician,
• Must have experience with CAT equipment (servicing, troubleshooting, maintaining)
• Dedication to safety
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
• Understanding of the Caterpillar product line will be considered an asset

• Completion or be in the process of completing Finning S-level courses would also be considered an asset

• Team player

Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.

Note:

• Interprovincial Red Seal endorsement is mandatory
• Drivers’ Abstract will be required
• Travel will be required, overnight stays may be required
• Starting wage of $53.54 (probationary rate) - $55.51
• Condition of employment may be the ability to wear a respirator and obtain access to Customer Sites
