Senior Software Engineer, Back-End (Collectors Experiences)

Our services span collectible coins, trading cards, video games, event tickets, autographs, and memorabilia through our subsidiaries, which include Professional Sports Authenticators (PSA), Professional Coin Grading Services (PCGS), Wata, Certified Coin Exchange (CCE), Collectors Corner, Set Registry, Collectors.com, and the Long Beach Expo collectibles trade show. Since our founding in 1986, we have graded and authenticated more than 80 million items. We employ over 1,500 people across our Santa Ana, CA headquarters, New Jersey, Seattle, Hong Kong, Paris, Shanghai and Tokyo.

Team Overview

The team is responsible for building the next generation of our online submission center, the gateway in which our customers submit their collectibles for our grading services. Using a modern cloud based architecture, this platform will need to scale to meet the needs of all collectors across our three core authentication and grading brands: PSA, PCGS, and WATA.

We are looking for back-end software engineers with a strong background in API development, Object-Oriented Programming, databases, and cloud technologies (AWS preferred) to join an agile team in our fast paced Product aligned organization.

What You’ll Do:

• Contribute to the design and development of new cloud-based software architectures
• Own and deliver complete features, including design, architecture, implementation, testability and deployment
• Provide feedback pertaining to technical designs, proposals and code
• Analyze existing applications / databases and identify areas for improvement
• Design and contribute to APIs that can support user experiences on web and mobile applications
• Collaborate with and mentor engineers while also conducting code reviews to ensure consistent design patterns are being applied

Who You Are:

• 4+ years of software engineering experience building web applications, APIs, scalable and distributed systems
• Fluent in Java, C#, Python or other high-level languages, and are also not afraid to take on other new technologies
• 1+ years of hands-on experience with cloud technology especially with serverless computing, and event driven architecture. AWS-cloud experience required.
• Experience with Service Oriented and Microservice architectures
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns
• Familiar with client-side frameworks, such as Vue.js or Angular. React experience is preferred.
• Proficient at using appropriate security, testing, documentation, and/or monitoring best practices
• Familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. 

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $124,115 - $201,504. Actual compensation on this range varies based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, prior experience, and skill set.
