The Team

GBG’s Identity documents & biometrics verification solutions deliver definitive identity proofing. They allow our customers to securely onboard their own customers with trust and confidence, achieved via biometric protection from a certified digital identity service provider. You will work within one of our Documents and Biometrics squads, committed to design and development of industry leading software and applications.

The Role

The Senior DevOps Engineer will be responsible for deploying software & product updates, identifying production issues, and implementing integrations that meet our customers’ needs. Primarily this means building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure within the AWS platform, working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes, including design an implementation of policies and procedures for managing Kubernetes clusters.

What you will do

• Work with software engineering teams and build/update the infrastructure automation and deployment process
• Managing releases, promotions, and deployments of software and services across multiple environments.
• Ensuring availability, performance, security, and scalability in production systems.
• Definition and deployment of systems for metrics, logging, and monitoring.
• Design and implement Cloud-based solutions that meet the needs of our business.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for managing Kubernetes clusters.
• Gathering requirements to learn what build or monitoring jobs are needed.
• Research complex subjects and provides expert guidance.
• Ability to manage time effectively and work both independently and as part of a team.
• Makes pragmatic design decisions identifying risks, trade-offs, and alternatives.
• Analyzes existing processes/technologies and makes recommendations for improvement.
• Provides coaching and mentorship and acts as a resource to other engineers.
• Participates in on-call rotation

Requirements

What We're Looking For

• Experienced as a Senior DevOps Engineer
• Extensive experience in AWS Cloud platform
• Experience in microservices led environment utilising Kubernetes (EKS)
• Containerisation (Docker)
• Proficient with CI/CD Pipeline tools, Jenkins is what we use
• Development experience using CloudFormation for IaC
• Scripting e.g. Powershell, Python, Linux shell, Groovy
• Good knowledge of Observability Systems such as ELK, New Relic, Zabbix
• Working experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies and frameworks
• Working knowledge of databases and SQL
