Salary/Hourly Rate:23.00Mobile Community Services provides free, mobile laundry and shower service for individuals in Denver experiencing extreme poverty and unhoused. We currently have 2 laundry trucks, one shower trailer and two combination shower/laundry trailers in operation; each offers services 5-6 days a week. Applicants should be reliable, compassionate, and have a safety mindset.
Primary Duties

Physically able to do laundry and be on your feet for the majority of workday.
Thoroughly clean and organize shower & laundry facilities in accordance with training.
Safely operate a modified 20-foot box truck in the Denver-Metro area, including downtown.
Safely operate a F350 or 16-passenger van with a 20-foot or 28-foot trailer attached in the Denver-Metro area, including downtown.
Navigate traffic and parking of all company vehicles in a busy urban environment.
Perform vehicle inspections, notifying manager or manager of any necessary maintenance or repairs.
Additional Responsibilities
Follow directions as provided by manager.
Represent Service Source professionally with customers and partner service providers.
Provide empathic and thoughtful customer service to all clients.
Use a trauma informed approach when offering support to participants and customers.
Engage community members about broader SSI services.
Track all personal laundry, utilizing procedures in place, ensuring nothing gets lost, and belongings are returned to the correct individual.
Kindly, tactfully, notify shower occupants when they have 5 minutes remaining.
Purge grey water, fill propane and gasoline to ensure flawless operation of vehicles.
Train and monitor transitional employees in set-up, operation, cleaning/sanitization, and troubleshooting of the laundry truck and shower trailer.
Work outdoors in all-weather conditions, year-round.
Provide all documents and receipts to the manager daily.
Alert manager to any inventory needs.
Coordinate with other drivers within Mobile Community Services to ensure all sites are covered.
Practice excellent interpersonal dynamics, solid team collaboration, and conflict resolution.
Keep a safety mindset, maintaining a safe workspace clear of hazards.
Lift up to 10 pounds repeatedly, and 50 pounds occasionally.
Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s)
Requirement High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years’ experience working with vulnerable populations.
Must have a valid driver’s license with the ability to be insured by SSI’s automotive carrier.
Able to provide verification of current auto-insurance and have full use of automobiles during work hours.
Confidence operating and parking a large truck and trailer in an urban environment.
Excellent interpersonal dynamics, solid team collaboration and conflict resolution.
Demonstrated lived and/or work experience with vulnerable populations.
Ability to tend to distress and/or demanding clients and employees in an effective manner.
Ability to function in a positive manner in a demanding work environment, to demonstrate a high degree of flexibility, to respond to priorities and schedules that change frequently.
Demonstrated experience with crisis-intervention and de-escalation skills.
Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team environment.
