Digital Content Producer

WSET ABC 13 in Lynchburg, Virginia has an immediate opening for a creative Digital Content Producer. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day production of content on our digital products, including but not limited to the website, social media (Including: Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, X, and TikTok) and mobile apps. This position will work closely with the Digital Content Manager, Reporters, News Director, Assistant News Director and Anchors on the website and its content. In this position you will set the tone on digital, leading our community in conversations and break news in an accurate and expeditious manner; you will work with the news team to generate and write stories and develop content for our web site.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Solid news judgment
• Be a compelling, creative, and accurate writer
• Be an excellent multi-tasker and time manager 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• The ability to follow direction and execute digital strategies to obtain goals on the website and social media
• Be willing to learn and grow
• Flexibility and on-the-spot problem solving abilities are a must
• Mastery of AP Style and social media management
• The ability to work weekday nights and weekend days.  You will have a set schedule.  But we sometimes need to move people around to cover shifts.

Experience:

• Must have some journalism experience or college education in a journalism-related field of study; candidates with a digital marketing background would be considered 
• A Journalism degree is preferred
