The Engineering team works on multiple digital properties at Fortune: from the editorial website to the conferences site, Marketing Automation and our new E-Commerce offering Fortune Recommends. Our goal is to launch new products to build on our core competencies of content, events, and commerce, to diversify our revenue streams; and to improve the experience and monetization of existing properties.
We are seeking a Senior Engineer to join the Engineering team. As a Technical Lead, you will report to the Head of Engineering and manage the development and support of the Fortune website along with associated applications and integrations. We are looking for a full stack developer with a background in E-Commerce or affiliate marketing. This role will partner with product directly to act as the lead technical resource for our new E-Commerce offering.
Requirements:
• 4+ years of professional software development experience in e-commerce or affiliate marketing space with focus on web development. Experience with mobile-first, responsive web development. • 4+ years of JavaScript development experience with exposure to React and NextJS. • 4+ years of experience CSS and HTML5. Integration using GraphQL. Understanding of web performance and core web vitals. • 2+ years of experience using different database technologies – RDBMS, NOSQL. Especially MySQL. • 2+ years of experience Amazon Web Services. • Knowledge of WordPress CMS and PHP desired. • Background in E-Commerce and/or affiliate marketing desired. • Experience integrating with 3rd Party API’s. • Knowledge of working within an Agile and/or Lean methodology, using JIRA, Confluence or similar project management tools. • Experience with Git version control, and other software adjacent tools. • Ability to estimate development effort, efficiently and effectively. • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Good verbal and written communication skills. • Being a team player and ability to adapt, learn and move fast. • Ability to lead and recommend standards to other team members for web and general software development practices. • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, multitasking environment. • Practical knowledge of QA automation, functional & unit testing. • Practical knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes or containerization.A few of Fortune’s perks and benefits:

Salary: $140,000 - $180,000
