We offer a hybrid work schedule (one week in the office, one week of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

  • Works independently at a high technical level on complex projects through all phases of applications systems analysis activities.
  • Formulates or defines system scope and objectives, based on user needs.
  • Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems, considering computer capacity and limitations, operating time, and desired results.
  • Works with multiple business units, in multi-platform environments, on multi-project assignments.
  • Guides and advises less experienced Programmer Analysts.

 
Job Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist in the planning, design, development, of new Analytical and data science applications and enhancements to existing applications.
  • Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issues.
  • Create systems models, specifications, diagrams and charts to provide direction to programmers.
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
  • Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems.
  • Creates and delivers effective presentations to all levels of colleagues and peer groups.
  • Document standards and procedures for various Analytic platforms.
  • Develop test cases and validates test results.
  • Coaches and transfers knowledge to less experienced team members.
  • Proficiently performs assignments having the knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience needed to carry out all aspects of the job.
  • Exercises independent judgment and decision-making in planning, organizing and conducting work assignments.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Qualifications
3 years of experience in Data Analytics, and/or Data Warehousing is required.
3 years of experience in data modeling, dimensional modelling and/or Reporting/Dashboarding is required.

  • A deep understanding and mastery of constructing complex SQL queries is essential.
  • Experience/knowledge supporting BI Platforms like Power BI, Cognos BI, Business Objects etc. is required.
  • Experience in Data Science projects, as well as working knowledge of R/R Shiny App, Python, IBM Cloud Pak for Data is highly desirable and will be preferred.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, and attention to details with the ability to work both independently, as part of team.
  • Outstanding communication, organization, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of SDLC practices and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize materials and make presentations in front of a groups and senior management.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Prior electric or gas utility experience is preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required.
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Must be able and willing to collaborate in a team/cooperative environment as well as exercise independent judgment and initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and meet multiple project deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
