Court Supervisor - Juvenile Probation

- Supervises and reviews the work of Court Liaisons.
- Reviews Court Liaison’s cases prior to court and transfer to Field.
- Conducts regular staff meetings with Court Liaisons; Assigns cases.
- Attends administrative staff meetings and trainings as required.
- Conducts drug testing as required by Courts.
- Serves as member of screening panel for selection of new employees.
- Prepares annual performance evaluations.
- Instructs, trains and monitors performance of Court Liaisons.
- Assists the Director in case auditing on a quarterly basis.
- Serves as liaison between department and local law enforcement.
- Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or other state approved related field.
- Five years job related experience.
- Management and supervisory skills.
- Computer skills; organizational skills and ability to complete assigned projects in a timely manner; ability to prioritize own and other’s work.
- Verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with others.
- Valid Texas Driver License.
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- Eligible to be a Certified Juvenile Probation Officer.
- On call 24-hours per day; subject to irregular work hours.
SALARY: $3,559.20 biweekly
CLOSING DATE: Upon filling position
*This position is eligible for additional compensation based upon state supplement and certification pay.
An applicant may not have any of the following disqualifying criminal history:
1) A felony conviction against the laws of this state, another state, or the United States within the past 10 years; a deferred adjudication for a felony against the laws of this state, another state, or the United States within the past 10 years or current felony probation or parole.
2) A jailable misdemeanor conviction against the laws of this state, another state or the United States within the past 5 years; a deferred adjudication for a jailable misdemeanor against the laws of this state, another state, or the United States within the past 5 years or current misdemeanor probation or parole.
3) Registered as a sex offender under Chapter 62, Texas Code of Criminal Procedure.
