Senior/Staff Clinical Informaticist

Our Clinical Informatics team is looking for an exceptional, driven, and creative Clinical Informatics Specialist who is excited about working with clinical data, standard terminologies and ontologies with a focus on oncology.
As part of the Clinical Informatics team, you will reconcile and translate clinical data to enable healthcare providers and patients to make informed decisions surrounding cancer care. To accomplish this, you will partner with data scientists, engineering and product professionals to create clinical content and normalize data to standard terminologies. The result of this work will power clinical decision support systems to better the lives of patients and providers today. You will be part of company-wide initiatives in this arena to ensure we achieve scalable solutions in our products. This position reports to the Informatics Manager.

Here is what you will do day to day:

• Analysis of clinical data for semantic equivalence, patterns and characteristics.
• Collaborate with other teams regarding clinical data and clinical workflows with an emphasis on outpatient oncology and acute healthcare utilization.
• Participate in the Systems Development Life Cycle of Ronin Clinical Informatics infrastructure and Ronin products as appropriate for subject matter expertise.
• Build, implement and maintain core terminology functions (concept maps and value sets).
• Query and interact with databases to explore and utilize clinical data (EHR derived and non-EHR repositories), terminologies and ontologies.
• Contribute to the development of Ronin’s terminology server and tooling.
• Leverage terminology knowledge to normalize EHR data to standard code systems.
• Contribute to the ingestion of clinical data from outside sources by establishing semantic equivalence to internal data models and information models.
• Contribute to the ETL of data & content by learning basic programming (Python Pandas, Spark, API requests)

• Understanding of moderately complex clinical data and content such as Multiple Representations, Relationships, Clinical and Code System Metadata.
• Experience in core clinical informatics functions such as mapping, value sets creation & relationship models for utilization within healthcare Experience in navigating unstructured, semi-structured, and structured healthcare data for a variety of use cases.
• Strong knowledge of Ontologies and TerminologiesExperience in Oncology EHR and Applied Clinical Informatics in Oncology.
• Experience using EHRs and the data or clinical step produced at each stageAbility to construct hierarchy from clinical concepts.
• Significant experience working with USCDI core standards (FHIR R4, SNOMED, ICD-10, LOINC).
• Familiarity with basic SQL and data retrieval techniques.
• A desire to learn to query and programming languages (SQL, Spark, Python, etc).
• 3+ years nursing or clinical experience and 1+ year of informatics 
• Masters of Nursing Informatics, Clinical Informatics, Bioinformatics or similar (required)
