Offal Attendant 

Location: Vicksburg Plant 
Department: Production 
Reports To: Shipping / Department Supervisor 

Job Summary 

The Offal Attendant – Production is responsible for handling, collecting, sorting, and transferring offal and related by-products generated during production operations. This role ensures offal materials are managed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies, food safety standards, environmental requirements, and regulatory guidelines. The Offal Attendant plays an important role in maintaining sanitary conditions, supporting production flow, and minimizing contamination or safety risks. 

 

Essential Functions 

  • Collect, handle, and transfer offal and by-products from designated production areas 

  • Sort and stage offal materials according to established procedures and disposal or processing requirements 

  • Ensure offal containers, bins, and equipment are properly identified and positioned 

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of offal handling areas, tools, and equipment 

  • Monitor work areas for potential safety, sanitation, or contamination risks and report concerns promptly 

  • Follow all GMP, food safety, environmental, and workplace safety policies 

  • Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) 

  • Accurately complete required production, sanitation, or disposal documentation 

  • Support continuous production flow by responding to offal handling needs in a timely manner 

 

Non-Essential Functions 

  • Assist with cleaning and sanitation activities during changeovers or shutdowns 

  • Support other production or labor roles as assigned 

 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Ability to perform physical labor in a production environment 

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions 

  • Prior manufacturing or food processing experience preferred but not required 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 

  • Understanding of basic food safety and sanitation principles 

  • Ability to work in fast-paced and physically demanding environments 

  • Attention to safety, cleanliness, and detail 

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision 

 

Physical Demands 

  • Continuous standing and walking throughout the shift 

  • Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling 

  • Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation 

  • Repetitive hand and arm motions 

 

Working Conditions 

  • Production environment with exposure to cold, wet conditions, strong odors, noise, and moving machinery
