Description
Mammoth Holdings is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role is responsible for managing key accounting functions including month-end close, financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, and compliance. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and a proactive approach to process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements, internal reporting, and audit schedules
- Collaborate with cross-function a teams to ensure accurate reporting and resolve discrepancies
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Monitor and analyze accounting data to identify areas for process improvement
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements
- Assist with audits, tax filings, and external reporting as needed
- Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on complex accounting matters
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
