About the role

Position Summary: 

The Lead, Compliance is responsible for the independent leadership, planning, executition and reporting of audits and regulatory compliance of all attractions across the Company’s shipboard fleet and private destinations. Attractions pertain to anything where a guest is in or on a feature which moves the guest for the purpose of entertainment, such as waterslides, FlowRider, aquatic play, dry play, dry slides, obstacle courses, climbing walls, ziplines, and similar features. This includes all related aquatic systems onboard ships, as well as shoreside attractions at destinations such as Perfect Day at Coco Cay, Paradise Beach Club, and future destinations.   

 

This role serves as an Lead, Compliance and independent assessor independent assessor, conducting routine audits, and supporting compliance reviews.  

 

The position requires deep technical expertise in water attractions, a strong understanding of global regulatory frameworks related to attraction features, and the ability to clearly communicate findings through structured reporting and executivelevel writeups. The role operates with a high degree of autonomy and professional judgment and engages directly with shipboard executive committees, senior shoreside leadership, and crossfunctional partners to drive compliance and continuous improvement. Travel is a core component of the role, with an estimated 70%+ travel requirement. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Serve as Lead Compliance for attraction and aquatic system audits onboard ships (typically 1–2 visits per vessel annually) and at private destinations. 

  • Evaluate compliance with applicable international, regional, and local standards governing waterslides, aquatic and other attractions. 

  • Assess operational readiness, preventive maintenance practices, documentation, and safety controls. 

  • Review technical parameters including (but not limited to):  

  • Water quality and chlorination systems 

  • Water pressure, flow rates, and hydraulic performance 

  • Ride controls, restraints, safety features, and signage 

  • Preventive maintenance records and operational logs 

  • Training records, SOPs, and any other related documentation 

  • Maintain working knowledge of global waterslide, aquatic and other attraction standards, regulatory bodies, and industry best practices. 

  • Partner with operators, engineering, and thirdparty vendors to ensure alignment between design intent, regulatory requirements, and operational execution. 

  • Support leadership with defensible, welldocumented analysis suitable for executive review and regulatory scrutiny. 

  • Produce clear, concise, and technically sound written audit reports with findings and conclusions. 

  • Coordinate audit activities and engage directly with shipboard leadership, shoreside departments, operators, engineers, and thirdparty vendors  

  • Communicate complex technical findings in a way that is understandable to both technical and nontechnical audiences. 

  • Present results, trends, and recommendations to senior leadership and crossfunctional partners. 

  • Support the identification of systemic trends, recurring issues, and opportunities to strengthen governance, standards, and controls across the fleet and destinations.
