Material Associate

Headquartered in Coventry Rhode Island, Seaside Casual Furniture manufactures outdoor furniture out of EnviroWood®, an all-weather, low-maintenance, eco-friendly material made from recycled bottles and jugs. PURPOSE:

As a Material Handler, you will perform a variety of duties including moving materials and finished products to the warehouse, cycle counting and auditing materials/product.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Understand and follow all SOPs, safety rules/regulations, and good manufacturing practices.
  • Maintain positive, professional working relationships with superiors and coworkers from all departments.
  • Locate materials and supplies by verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
  • Move inventory around the facility by identifying, labeling, and placing material in the designated locations.
  • Provide WIP inventory to work centers by delivering correct inventory.
  • Document materials/supplies disposition by recording units deliver to various locations in and outside of the facility.
  • Sustain material handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and documenting the state of equipment.
  • Set up machinery for operation.
  • Start machinery and adjust machinery when necessary to improve performance.
  • Perform dimensional inspections to completed parts.
  • Operate machinery and equipment according to instructions.

OTHER JOB DUTIES:

  • Maintain a working knowledge of all equipment and machinery used.
  • Follow all safety protocols.

All other duties Perform all other duties as assigned including carrying out responsibilities, performing duties, using skills, and working in conditions necessary to perform all assigned tasks

 

COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:

  • Forklift Experience (Preferred)
  • Operating Machinery
  • Knowledge of building materials
  • Ability to read a tape measure and understand fractions.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. above head.
  • Stand, sit, bend, kneel, and repetitive lifting for 8 hours.
  • Climb stairs while carrying heavy objects.
  • Work in inclement weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work in assigned shift, as required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Read and write in English.
