Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Scientist I is responsible for testing following written procedures, capable of maintaining and troubleshooting lab equipment based on written procedures, and the execution of written protocols with limited supervision.
KEY POSITION FUNCTIONS
- Sample Analysis and data review (50%)
- Execute protocols in accordance with project objectives (30%)
- Troubleshoot and maintain instrumentation under the direct supervision of lab or department leadership (10%)
- Clean and maintain departmental areas (5%)
- Provide support for the laboratory’s Quality Systems through the completion of any QA-required documentation and upkeep of personnel training record. (5%)
- Additional instrument training is preferred due to the high degree of sophistication of methods and equipment.
- Knowledge of appropriate regulatory requirements is desired (e.g., 21 CFR Part 210 / 211, 820, etc.)
- Operates in accordance with the lab’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), applicable good laboratory practices (GLP) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
- Maintains a neat, clean and orderly work area.
EQUIPMENT USED
- Routine use of computer applications, primarily Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel)
- LabWare Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Significant use of basic lab equipment (i.e., balances, stir plates, hotplates, baths, etc.) and instrumentation (i.e., meters, spectrophotometers, balances, etc)
Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum Required: Bachelors, Science discipline
- Experience: BS: 2+ years; MS: 0 years
Additional Information
Position is full-time, first shift position, Monday-Friday 8:30am - 5pm, with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Jacksonville, FL are encouraged to apply.
