Intern - Facilities Operations

Cytokinetics is a late-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing, and commercializing first-in-class muscle activators and next-in-class muscle inhibitors as potential treatments for debilitating diseases in which muscle performance is compromised and/or declining. This is a paid internship at our South San Francisco headquarters. The program is for approximately 10-12 weeks beginning in late May/early June.

Job Description:

The Facilities Operations intern will be exposed to the wide range of activities and spaces that the Cytokinetics Facilities department manages, including site services and operations, environmental health and safety, maintenance and building engineering, security, and space planning. The intern will work with different facilities program leaders and will complete a project that is mutually agreed upon by the intern and Facilities staff.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma.
• College coursework in the sciences or engineering or trade school coursework is desirable but not necessary.
• Must be proficient in math, a good communicator, detail oriented, and able to climb ladders and willing to work with hand tools of different types.
• Previous experience with hand tools, shop tools, plumbing, low voltage electronics, Excel spreadsheets and databases is also desirable.

 

Hourly pay range: $22-45/hour.
