Construction Health & Safety Consultant - Dublin (Mid-Senior Level)

ERM is seeking an energetic, self-starting Health & Safety Consultant to join us on a fixed-term contract for 12 months to support our clients operating in the Technology construction sector. This role is based from Dublin. The ideal start date is early September with the contract running for 12 months.
Our role will be mainly site based covering locations in and around Dublin, Ireland but thereafter will be a combination of site and/or desk based projects, based out of our Dublin office.

These consultants will help us primarily with our work with leading providers in Internet Media & Services, Telecommunications, Electronics and Original Design Manufacturing. The ideal candidate
You are focused and energetic ready to help the world’s most dynamic companies in the Tech sectors tackle some of their most important H&S challenges. The ideal candidate will have good technical knowledge and experience covering construction site Health & Safety requirements and practises along with an awareness of environmental topics. You will have strong team-working and interpersonal skills with the confidence to interact with all different levels within a client organisation. You are someone who enjoys working in a fast moving environment and possess the proven ability to write clear, well-articulated reports and deliver impactful presentations.
ROLE PROFILE
Our clients would need our consultants to work closely with them and/or be based in their site, acting as the point of contact for activities related to construction health and safety and sustainability. As you develop in your role, you will also acquire consulting skills through interaction with various clients and become an expert in the above areas.
Main initial responsibilities are (not limited to):
Monitoring the implementation of the project-Specific Construction Safety Management Plan (CSMP) of the General Contractor.
Evaluating H&S leadership, planning, support, operational controls, performance management, and continuous improvement of both the General contractor/Developer and their Contractors.
Providing the oversight, measurement, and assurance of the Contractors implementation of and conformance with the project-specific CSMP
Supporting the Client Construction Manager in project meetings (i.e. with General contractor/Developer, Architect, Contractor).
Conducting regular (i.e., daily) site walks to visually assess construction work activities.
Conducting a documented weekly Health and Safety Audit using client construction zone inspection tools and prepare Health and Safety Audit reports
Monitoring and evaluating the Project General contractor’s/Developer’s management of the contractors appointed on the Project
Managing tasks within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensuring quality standards on project deliverables.
Building client relationships and nurturing repeat business by continuously striving to exceed their expectations.
Supporting ERM Partners and Project Managers to effectively manage and deliver projects.
Building strong collaborative relationships with other ERM employees
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Technical Degree in H&S Management, Engineering, or Specialty area (i.e. Industrial Hygiene, Construction); or three (3) years in H&S management role(s).
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in industrial, civil, or technology-related construction sector(s).
Fluency in the English language (native or secondary) both verbal and written.
In-depth knowledge of Irish H&S standards and regulations
Competency in occupational H&S management systems (i.e. ISO 45001; OHSAS 18001).
