About the role

Description

Join a team where exceptional events come to life.
Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards is one of Virginia’s most iconic event destinations, known for impeccable service, breathtaking views, and seamless hospitality. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Event Manager to help lead our events team. This role is central to delivering unforgettable weddings, celebrations, and private events—coordinating every element from set-up to final farewell.

What You’ll Do:

As Assistant Event Manager, you'll be the hands-on leader guiding our event staff through all phases of service. You’ll communicate across departments, support the guest experience, and manage behind-the-scenes logistics with confidence, precision, and grace. This is a leadership role for someone with a strong eye for detail, the ability to motivate others, and a deep passion for hospitality.

Event Execution & Leadership

  • Supervise event staff during setup, service, and breakdown—ensuring alignment with Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)

  • Serve as a liaison between kitchen, service teams, sales, and clients for seamless coordination

  • Conduct pre- and post-event team briefings, manage assignments, and lead with professionalism

Client, Guest & Vendor Relations

  • Build strong working relationships with clients and vendors

  • Act as a warm, organized, and professional point of contact throughout the event process

Service & Venue Standards

  • Uphold exceptional service standards, including specialty and dietary service needs

  • Maintain guest-facing areas (bridal and groom suites, service stations, public spaces) at event-ready quality

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Assist with interviewing, hiring, and training event staff

  • Schedule team members according to guest counts and event needs, aligning with labor targets

  • Monitor bar setup, manage supply and liquor inventory, and perform quarterly counts

  • Track labor hours and reconcile event costs for financial reporting

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing teams in events or hospitality (2+ years preferred)

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Calm, clear-headed, and professional under pressure

  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods (8–12 hours)

  • Available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed

Why Join Us?

At Pippin Hill and across Easton Porter Group, we believe great hospitality starts with great people. We foster leadership, personal growth, and high standards—offering a supportive team environment with room to grow. If you’re a natural leader with a passion for details and creating memorable experiences, we want to meet you.
