Financial Analysis Lead Analyst - Expense Management

About the role

Expense Management Lead Analyst supporting Medicare expense management functions including but not limited to portfolio investment analysis, tracking, and reporting on actual results vs projections. Candidate will also be responsible for ownership and maintenance of NBE model used to support CMS Bid submissions in addition to supporting other analysis related to consolidation of financials and operating expenses. Role requires a strong financial acumen and awareness of financial tools and resources to support recurring and ad hoc financial analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the tracking and reporting of strategic investment spend for our Medicare business, ensuring that investments and initiatives align with our segments overall growth strategy and priorities.

  • Support the development of business cases for project ideas under consideration for funding, improving the coordination between business owners, finance controllers, and analytics to create more robust estimates for project return on investments

  • Supporting the finance function in leadership governance discussions for Medicare business portfolio.

  • Ownership of Non-Benefit Expense toolset used to support CMS Bids. Owning and improving upon current methodology and toolset.

  • Support ad hoc projects as necessary across business to help optimize and/or improve quality of reporting toolset

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial, Data Science, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business/Health Care Administration, or other related field or commensurate experience. Any combination of work experience and/or training that demonstrates the ability to perform the required duties and responsibilities of the position. 

  • 3+ years professional work experience in Healthcare, Financial Analysis, or related area

  • Strong ability to connect technical models with high level trends, concepts, and anecdotes

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and model

  • Ability to communicate and influence technical and non-technical business partners

  • Track record of driving process improvement and successful change management preferred

  • Basic technical knowledge of relational database concepts, querying, data warehouses and decision support tools, including but not limited to: SQL, Essbase, and Oracle Smartview preferred
