Your Team
Join our innovative team at Baxter and lead the charge in developing ground breaking software solutions for the Novum IQ Platform. As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering, you'll be responsible for driving the design, development, and maintenance of C/C++ embedded software for our infusion pump platform. Your expertise will shape the future of medical technology, improving patient outcomes and transforming the healthcare landscape.
What you'll be doing
Spearhead a team of 10-15 software engineers in Raleigh, NC, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and high-quality product engineering.
Collaborate with senior management to set project goals, timelines, and resource requirements, ensuring seamless execution and delivery.
Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and driving excellence.
Generate innovative solutions to complex problems, using multiple subject areas and technical principles to create novel products and processes.
Provide strategic leadership, working with cross-functional teams and project managers to drive project planning and execution excellence.
Coach, mentor, and motivate team members to achieve outstanding performance, taking ownership of work you're doing and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery.
What you'll bring
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field with 10 + years related experience or master’s degree with 8+ years related experience.
A seasoned leader with experience building and leading high-performing teams, creating a culture of innovation and excellence.
A subject matter expert in software development disciplines, with a deep understanding of complex software solutions and software engineering principles.
A solid technical foundation, with experience developing and delivering software solutions to market, in the medical industry or highly regulated industry.
Proficient in C++ and Qt/QML, with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles, and experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded Linux.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to build and sustain relationships with various collaborators.
A consistent track record of driving process simplification, agility, and continuous improvement, with a focus on delivering high-quality products and services.
