Mechanical Engineer

The candidate must be an independent thinker and problem solver who will own the outcome of product success. The responsibility of providing engineered solutions to meet and exceed program objectives is assigned to the Mechanical Engineer.
Your ability to define problem statements, take stakeholder input, and provide effective solutions will be critical in this role.
Being able to identify where to best deploy your skill-set in collaboration with EPM, MPM, and other team stakeholders is highly advantageous.
Position Summary, Responsibilities and Expectations
- Collaborate extensively with EPMs, product managers, and designers to deliver our next generation of product
- Own mechanical design items and provide decisive forward path for engineering decisions
- Create prototypes, POC, early-stage brainstorming to drive innovation
- Create and own design documentation including CAD models, PRD, CMF, DFM, BOMs, SOP, test plans, and technical presentations
- Support EPM, DVT, Product management, OOBE, and Regulatory team efforts during the product development cycle
- Support JDM, ODM, CM teams to implement design vision through all stages of product cycle
Essential Skills and Experience
- Technical knowledge of mechanical engineering, product design, and design for manufacturability
- Consumer product experience
- Prior experience working with an interdisciplinary team to execute product designs from concept to production, including specification, design, prototyping, validation, and testing.
- Comfort working effectively on multiple projects concurrently
- Passion for product design
- Product development experience that includes FW and SW aspects preferred
- Advanced CAD skills (Solidworks, CREO)
- DFM, DFC, DFA, DOE, RSS stack tolerance analysis, SPC
- BOM creation, bug tracking databases, and group presentations
- Problem solving, attention to detail, effective communication (Mandarin a plus)
- ODM, CM, JDM management experience
- Experience with general electromechanical projects, C++, and or python a plus
- Phenomenal attention to detail in both design and project management aspects
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or similar
3-5 Years of work experience
For roles that are based at our headquarters in Milpitas, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
Annual Salary Range $80,000—$100,000 USD
