Vir Biotechnology is seeking a Senior Associate in Development Business Operations with a proven ability to work collaboratively within a matrix environment supporting vendor outsourcing activities for Translational and Clinical Development (TCD). You will partner closely with Vendors, Legal, Business Operations, Clinical Operations, and Finance to enable effective outsourcing of services and governance with vendor partners. You will report to the Associate Director, Business Operations.

This is a remote position. Vir only supports employees within the United States and reserves the right to approve work locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES:

  • Under the guidance of management, lead the vendor selection life-cycle including the management of Request-for-Information (RFI) and/or Request-for-Proposal (RFP) activities for clinical services such as study management, central laboratory, bioanalytical services, interactive response technology (IRT), and various ancillary vendors, etc.
  • Draf, execute, track and archive CDAs, MSAs, and other various vendor contract agreements in accordance with Vir standards and processes.
  • Negotiate & manage budgets and financial terms, refining scope, and providing analysis as required.
  • Effectively engage and partner with relevant internal and external stakeholders such as Clinical Operations, Legal, Regulatory, Finance and/or vendors, as applicable, to enable informed, risk-considered decisions.
  • Review invoices against contractual terms to ensure compliance and to identify conflicts or changes requiring resolution with contract revisions.
  • Proactively identify, define and assist in the implementation of new or improved Departmental processes or standards. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • B.A./B.S. degree and 4+ years of relevant experience with; advanced degree a plus
  • Willingness and ability to define and advocate new ideas and solutions to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the Department / Organization.
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills, both in one-on-one and group settings.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional team members and utilize interpersonal skills to foster successful working relationships both internally and externally.
  • Proven organizational skills and willingness to own a project from start to finish.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office suite; strong Excel skills a plus.

The expected salary range for this position is $112,500.00 to $163,500.00. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
