Job Description
HII is seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead and support information‑technology projects from initiation through completion. In this mid‑level role, you will plan, organize, and execute project activities to ensure delivery on time, within scope, and within budget. You will collaborate closely with engineering, acquisition, and customer teams to support contract execution and meet program objectives.
We are looking for a detail‑oriented, process‑driven project manager who excels at improving workflows, managing technology roadmaps, and supporting enterprise‑level portfolio processes. Strong communication, coordination, and analytical skills are essential.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Manage project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and status reporting.
- Coordinate across engineering, acquisition, and customer organizations to ensure project alignment.
- Identify, track, and mitigate project risks and issues.
- Support documentation, planning activities, and contract execution tasks.
- Ensure project activities align with customer objectives and mission priorities.
- Manage the RGOT Tech Initiative Process and maintain its associated webpage; lead continuous process improvements.
- Facilitate IT requirement reviews, conduct stakeholder engagement, and develop business cases.
- Recommend improvements to operational processes to increase efficiency.
- Develop clear, effective communication materials and brief stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Recommend AFWERX‑wide criteria for evaluating whether IT programs should be initiated, continued, or terminated.
- Manage the IT technology roadmap and artifacts; create visuals to support portfolio management.
Minimum Qualifications
- 6 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, IT, or related field; 4 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant progressive experience.
- 3–5 years of project or program management experience.
- Secret clearance (minimum).
Preferred Requirements
- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
- Experience working with government or DoD programs.
- Ability to manage multiple technical tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with acquisition and engineering processes.
- Experience supporting technology roadmaps or portfolio‑management activities.
- Working knowledge of SharePoint, PowerApps, and Power BI.
- PMP certification (preferred but not required).
