Detailed Position Information
The Department of Human Nutrition, Hospitality and Sport Management, a growing Department with a thriving faculty, seeks to fill a faculty position in Sport Management beginning in the Fall 2026 semester. It is one of five academic units within the College of Human Environmental Sciences at The University of Alabama. Due to our continued program growth, the department will split, resulting in the formation of the Department of Hospitality and Sport Management starting Fall 2027.

Responsibilities: Teaching and service to articulate The University of Alabama’s mission including but not limited to:
• Teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Recruit and mentor students.
• Academic and professional advising for undergraduate and graduate students.
• Serve on Departmental, College, and University committees.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
• Earned doctorate degree in Sport Management or related field.
• Evidence of successful teaching or course management at the collegiate level.
• Evidence of successful student mentorship/advising and/or service to the organization/academy

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications: • Minimum of two years industry experience working in the field of Hospitality or Sport Management. • Evidence of course development in the Sport Management discipline. • Ability/record of conducting research to advance the Sport Management discipline.
