Project Overview:

Bechtel is seeking to expand its decades long relationship with Reliance by providing Project Management Consultant (PMC) Services and Engineering Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) Services for offsites and utilities (OSBL) for a multi-billion-dollar upgrade / expansion of existing petrochemical facilities in India. Reliance plans to augment its existing petrochemical facilities in Dahej, Gujarat, and Nagothane, Maharashtra, to expand its PVC capacity. The PMC Services will be led out of India with personnel deployed in Mumbai region, the project sites in India, as well as several key contractor locations across India. The EPCM Services for OSBL will be led out of Bechtel’s India offices.

 

The position on the project will start as assignment in Nagothane, India.

Job Summary:

Responsible for the organization and direction of construction engineering personnel and activities relating to construction engineering, subcontracts, and engineering liaison to the design functional group.  Interprets design drawings and specifications. Supervises field verification of materials and installations. Provides technical direction to construction engineers and contractors in a wide range of construction engineering and design functions relating to multi-discipline engineering in an area or to a single discipline on the overall project. This position is for Offsites & Utilities scope of work and the selected candidate will report to Site Manager – Offsites and Utilities.

• Receives technical and operational guidance from Site Construction Manager, or other assigned supervising manager.

Supervision Exercised

• Provides technical and administrative direction to assigned subordinate construction engineers and contractors.

Contacts

• Jobsite contacts are with jobsite personnel including subcontractors related to construction engineering and the customer's resident engineering and operating personnel to coordinate construction activities.

Major Responsibilities:

• Develops and recommends the construction engineering organization for approval by the Site Construction Manager (or appropriate level of Project Management) and prepares employee requisitions.
• Coordinates with engineering on constructability and design issues and monitors the interfacing between the construction automation plan and the project controls program at the jobsite.
