About the role

PRIMARY PURPOSE 

The Day Camps Director serves Eagle Lake Camps by overseeing all aspects of Day Camps programming. This role exists to support the mission of The Navigators: To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His Kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost.

The Director is responsible for ensuring that all Day Camps programs operate smoothly, effectively, and in alignment with Eagle Lake’s mission. This includes developing and managing program managers and ensuring strong partnerships, staffing, training, logistics, and programming excellence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


•    35% – Partner Development and Scheduling: Proactively pursue new churches and organizations as potential Day Camps partners. Develop and maintain the annual Day Camps schedule—including On Location and Stationary sites—in alignment with ministry and financial goals.
•    15% – Program Manager Development: Lead, support, and develop program managers through consistent feedback, coaching, and accountability. Foster a culture of professional growth and Gospel-centered leadership.
•    10% – Staffing Logistics and Team Placements: Coordinate closely with the hiring team to communicate staffing needs. Oversee summer staff placements, GO Team coordination, and support hiring and recruitment for all Day Camps staff roles, including program coaches
•    10% – Program Design and Oversight: Stay informed on the developmental needs of youth and integrate that knowledge into engaging, impactful Day Camps programming. Oversee the creation, planning, and implementation of both On Location and Stationary programs. Ensure programming reflects Eagle Lake’s brand promise of a culture rooted in safety and holistic growth—spiritual, physical, emotional, and relational. Regularly seek feedback from campers, parents, staff, and partners to inform improvements.
•    10% – Staff Training: Design and deliver effective training that equips summer staff and leaders for success in their roles. Ensure alignment with Day Camps goals and standards.
•    10% – Ministry Partner Development: Raise personal financial support and meet annual fundraising goals in accordance with Navigators’ Ministry Partner Development requirements.
•    5% – Host Partner Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current host partners. Conduct summer site visits and maintain consistent communication to foster meaningful partnerships that support Gospel advancement in their communities.
•    5% – Logistics: Meals, Travel, and Housing: Create and manage comprehensive plans for Day Camps staff travel, housing, and meal needs throughout the summer season.
•    Team Contribution: Collaborate with and support the broader Eagle Lake Camps team in advancing all camp programs and shared ministry initiatives as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 


•    Bachelor’s Degree
•    One year required experience with Day Camp On Location programming
•    Ability to plan – able to think about what needs to be done to complete a task
•    Previous management experience – experience with guiding, giving feedback, developing and holding one accountable in a professional environment
•    Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators

•    Willingness to abide by Eagle Lake Relational Covenant
•    Available to work a flexible schedule during the summer including most weekends and holidays
•    Available to work evenings and weekends for special events throughout the year
